HEAD COACH ABBY GILBERT

My name is Abby Gilbert. I am beginning my sophomore year at Georgia Military College where I am taking my general studies classes and still trying to find the perfect career for me. Cheerleading has always been part of my life and something I am very passionate about. I began cheering in first grade at the CCRD and cheered rec. cheerleading for two years. The ending of my sixth grade year I tired out for my middle school cheerleading team and cheered all through out middle school and high school, every year for six years straight. Half way through my seventh grade year I tired out for my first competitive cheerleading team and cheered for them until my high school graduation in 2011. Competitive cheerleading was what I lived for and it was really a full time job. Upon graduation I became "too old" to compete with my team so I did my last competition and hung up my bow. It was such a sad day. Cheering my last game and competing in my last competition are definitely memories that will never fade away and a feeling I hope to never forget. I couldn't stay away for too long though, so I began volunteering on and off at the gym and helping my former coach. When asked to coach the Eagle cheer team I was thrilled. I have never coached by myself and saw this as a great opportunity. I enjoy working with the girls and watching them blossom into beautiful cheerleaders!

ASSISTANT COACH ASHLEY MAY

Hi! My name is Ashley Marie May. I'm nineteen years old and my cheerleading career began my sixth grade year at Grovetown Middle. I cheered for both the school as well as World Class Cheer. However, I only cheered competively for WCC for a year. I then attended Harlem High School where I cheered for two years and cheered competively for the school. Currently, I attend Augusta State University where I am majoring in Nursing and plan to work in the Labor and Delivery Unit at Doctors Hospital. I am coaching this year because it has been a few years since I have last cheered and I missed the sport and wanted to share my knowledge and love with young inspired ladies. I have some experience coaching a cheerleading team. I use to help coach the younger girls at WCC for about three months.
